Overview SENT Decoder is a configuration and monitoring app for the SAE J2716 SENT Decoder hardware device, designed for automotive engineers, technicians, and developers working with SENT protocol sensors. This privacy policy explains what data the app handles and how.

Data we collect None. SENT Decoder does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, device identifiers, usage statistics, or analytics of any kind. The app does not require account registration, login, or any form of identification.

What the app does Connects to SENT Decoder hardware via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to read sensor data and send configuration commands. Bluetooth data stays on your device — it is never transmitted to any server. Stores configuration locally on your device (channel settings, AO routing, presets, theme preference). This data is held in the app’s local storage on your phone and never leaves it. Displays decoded SAE J2716 sensor signals in real time on your device for diagnostic purposes. Permissions the app requests Permission Why Bluetooth To connect to SENT Decoder hardware Location (Android only) Required by Android 6.0–11 for BLE scanning. We do not read, use, or store your location. The app does not request access to camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, photos, internet, push notifications, or advertising identifiers.

Third-party services SENT Decoder does not use any third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or telemetry services. The app contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising frameworks, and no user tracking of any kind.

Children’s privacy The app is intended for professional use by automotive engineers and technicians. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.

Data retention Because no data is collected or transmitted, there is nothing to retain on our side. All app-related data resides on your device and remains under your sole control. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

Your rights Because we collect no personal data, there is no data subject to access, correction, or deletion requests on our side. All app-related data resides on your device and you may delete it at any time by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app.

Changes to this policy If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Because the app contains no analytics, we have no way to notify users automatically — please check this page periodically.
